You would think that happiness and fun would go hand-in-hand. Actually, they do, but some folks find it difficult to have fun. It is hard to believe but it is true.Don’t ever let anyone say to you that you are having fun inappropriately. Sure there are times when having fun may be something you ought to leave aside. Perhaps someone has just died in tragic circumstances. It might be a good idea for other persons’ sakes to be sober in attitude at that time.I started to say that one ought to be sedate at a funeral as well. But then I realized that is a matter of opinion and a matter of whether the person whose life you are remembering was often found in the throes of laughter. Perhaps fun would be a very appropriate attitude even then. You see, when one is happy on the inside, that often spills out as fun and laughter on the outside. Joy begets joy. As long as you are not harming yourself or anyone else, fun is a physical manifestation of the happiness that is found within. You find that happiness by making a connection with the Divine Laughter. You make that link through meditation. This tie to the Divine Laughter is where you find your spirit in complete resonance with the Divine Vibrations which are often heard in laughter.May I give you the example of the 14th Dalai Lama? You will many times see him smiling and looking for a chance to laugh. He often has a mischievous glint in his eye. If anyone may be said to be in tune with the Divine, it is he.Part of happiness is to beam your bliss into the world. In other words, share your feeling of love and compassion which you acquire through happiness. This is a very important step in your development as a human being – to be as compassionate as you can. The stronger your connection with the Divine, the greater your capacity for compassion. But compassion can be seen and given in the form of fun. Some people get so stiff in their emotions through tension and tragedy that they could use something to un-stiffen them. Fun is one of those un-stiffening methods.Fun loosens up the constrictions that comes from stress. Laughter is one of the best medicines there is. Laughter comes from happiness, both inside and out. Inner happiness is the foundation of fun.Starting today, ever increase your connection and link to the Divine Laughter, continue developing happiness within, share that happiness through fun, reinforce your own happiness by having fun.
